Brain Foundation: target spending system in Salesforce<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The challenge<\/h4>

In late 2016, the Brain Foundation approached TwoPurpose with a question: can you automate our target spending system in Salesforce? The number of sub-processes was very extensive: the entire process of spending the funds, approval of applications for (research) projects, involvement of internal and external evaluators, and then also monitoring the projects and milestones, as well as accounting for the expenditure.<\/p>

The Brain Foundation had the following two main challenges for which they were looking for a solution:\u00a0<\/p>

  1. Making processes uniform across departments.<\/li>
  2. Spending less time on administration and better recording of decisions<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The solution<\/h4>

    After converting the Brain Foundation's processes into process flows, grafted onto Salesforce technology, in a number of sessions, we started setting up Salesforce in sprints. The standard approval processes in Salesforce now facilitate decision-making regarding the allocation of funds. To create flexible application forms without customisation, we set up a solution based on FormAssembly, which also ensures maintainability. Using Salesforce's Experience Cloud, peer reviews by scientists and laypeople (i.e. patients) are easily enabled. Approved payments are converted by Conga into payment orders for Financial Administration.<\/p>

    In June 2017, the Brain Foundation went live with this wonderful solution, with Salesforce and some other applications on the platform. All internal and external stakeholders are now guided through the process and have continuous 100% insight into applications and ongoing projects. A solution we are quite proud of!

    The result<\/h4>

    There is now a unified process where all departments work in the same way, decisions are automatically recorded and the target applicant can follow the progress of the process through the community.

    The next step<\/h4>

    The Brain Foundation also expects to house its fundraising in Salesforce in the near future. This will then also offer the possibility of linking incoming funds to outgoing payments.
