One such feature is <em>Reporting Snapshots,<\/em> with which you periodically take a 'photo' of a particular report, so to speak. Put all those photos together, and you can see at a glance the trends in your data.<\/p><\/div><div id=\"block-yui_3_17_2_1_1607938851878_7388\" class=\"sqs-block html-block sqs-block-html\" data-block-type=\"2\"><h3>\u00a0<\/h3><h3 class=\"sqs-block-content\">What do you get out of Reporting Snapshots?<\/h3><p class=\"sqs-block-content\">Reports are a representation of the current situation in your database. Examples include the number of donors, the number of structural agreements and the number of open cases.\u00a0<br \/>Current data is nice, but becomes even more interesting when you can put it in historical perspective. How many donors did I have on 1 January this year and last year? Why do I have 100 open cases now and only 50 last month? These snapshots from the past are hard to visualise unless you use Reporting Snapshots.<\/p><h3>\u00a0<\/h3><h3>How can you use Reporting Snapshots?<\/h3><p>You'll find this handy feature in Salesforce's Setup. To use Reporting Snapshots, you need a report, object and schedule.<\/p><\/div><div data-block-type=\"2\">\u00a0<\/div><h4 class=\"sqs-block html-block sqs-block-html\" data-block-type=\"2\"><strong>Report<\/strong><\/h4><div class=\"sqs-block html-block sqs-block-html\" data-block-type=\"2\">A report contains the information you want to report on. For example, the number of active structural agreements.<\/div><div data-block-type=\"2\">\u00a0<\/div><h4 class=\"sqs-block html-block sqs-block-html\" data-block-type=\"2\"><strong>Object<\/strong><\/h4><div data-block-type=\"2\">An object into which the (totalised) information from the report can be written. This object will have to be created itself. Usually a date field for the report date and a numeric field for the total number of records of the report will suffice. This could be daily, or it could be weekly or monthly.<\/p><h4>\u00a0<\/h4><h4>The result<\/h4><p class=\"\">The result is an object that periodically records a number relevant to you.
